Chai Spice Cake!

CHAI SPICE CAKE 2 c Flour1 c Sugar1 Tsp Baking Powder1 Tsp Baking Soda1 Tbsp Hart's Desire Chai Spice1 c Buttermilk (or, 1 c milk + 1 tbsp Lemon Juice)1 Tsp Vanilla3 Eggs½ c Butter, very soft   Directions: Pre-heat Oven to 350 deg.  Mix Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Chai Spice together with a whisk and set aside With a hand mixer, mix Sugar and Butter until smooth 4. Beef Stew! Ingredients: 1 lb Beef cut into about 1” cubes1 Lg onion2 Cloves Garlic2 large Carrots½ lb cubed Potatoes (or about 8 New Potatoes)4-8 oz Mushrooms (optional) 32 oz (4 c) Beef Broth1 ½ Tsp Provincial Poultry½ tsp Fresh Black Pepper3 Tbsp Tomato Paste2 Tbsp (as needed) Flour or Flax Seed as Thickener Instructions: Brown beef, remove from pot Brown Onion, Garlic, and Mushrooms Add Tomato Paste and quickly brown.  Add about 1 C of broth and de-glaze the pan (get all the brown stuff off the bottom) Add everything but the thickener, stir and simmer for about 30...

 Italian Country Ribs Ingredients:  2 lbs Country Style Ribs8 oz Mushrooms, Sliced¼ C Red Wine1 m onion, Chopped1 Clove Garlic 1 Tbsp Hart's Desire Italian Herbs1 6-oz Can Tomato Paste1 16-oz can Diced TomatoesOlive Oil for Sauteing   Directions:  Preheat Oven to 300 1. Heat oven safe dutch oven on High with 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil. Brown Ribs on each side for appx 1 Min, or until each face has good browning. 2. Remove Ribs to a seperate Container. 3. Garden fresh fritters Ingredients: 2 cups grated kohlrabi, zucChini, or summer squash½ c diced onion½ c diced green onion2 Tbsp fresh or 1 Tbsp dry Dill Weed1 clove garlic3/4 tsp Greek seasoning1 tsp lemon zest1/2 tsp kosher or equivalent salt of your choice2 eggs  1/3 cup flour 1-2 tbsp oil Directions:  Grate vegetable into a clean tea-towel or nut bag. (for Kohlrabi, cut into handle-able wedges first without peeling) Twist the towel tightly to squeeze all the juice out. Add vegetables and all other ingredients to a bowl and mix well. Look for a thick damp but not wet consistency....

Summer Picnic Salad

Summer Picnic Salad Ingredients:    Salad: 1 Small head Broccoli finely chopped2 oz sunflower, or Bean Sprouts, chopped (fleshy microgreens) ¾ C Shredded Carrots¼ c Dried Cranberries¼ C roasted Sunflower Seeds   Dressing: ¼ C Sour Cream1 Tsp Hart’s Desire’s Slawsome Veggies1 ½ Tsp Cider Vinegar¼-½ Tsp Kosher Salt Directions: Mix all dressing ingredients together and set aside.  Shred Carrots, Chop Broccoli, and Sprouts; place in medium mixing bowl Add Sunflower seeds, and cranberries, mix well.  Add dressing and mix well. 5. Let sit in fridge for 30 minutes, best if used within a couple days.
