Chai Spiced Snickerdoodles!

Ingredients:

 

½ c Butter/Shortening

1 ½ c All Purpose Flour divided in Half

½ c Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla

½ tsp Baking Powder

1 Tbsp Sugar

1 Tsp Chai Spice

 

 

Directions:

 

1. Preheat Oven to 375

 

2. Break up the Butter and mix until creamy with an electric mixer on medium/high

 

3. Mix Sugar, Baking Powder and ¾ c of the flour together with a whisk thoroughly

 

4. Add this to the Butter, with the Vanilla, and Egg. Mix on medium-high until incorporated.


5. Scrape up the dough off the sides and bottom and expose any un-mixed pockets of flour

 

6. Add the other ¾ c of flour and mix on medium-high until smooth.

 

7. Check notes in video on dough temperature and cookie shape


8. Combine Sugar and Chai Spice in a small bowl

 

9. Pinch off pieces of Dough and roll into 1” balls, roll in Chai Sugar and place on cookie sheet 1”-2” apart.

 

10. Bake for 9-12 minutes, until edges start to brown.

 

11. Cool on wire rack and enjoy!
