The secret Split Pea Soup
Ingredients:
1 M - Lg Onion Chopped
1-2 Tbsp Butter or Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic
1-2 chopped Carrots
6 c Chicken Broth
16 oz Split Peas, Picked over and rinsed
1 lb Ham (or 1 ½ lb Meaty ham bone)
1 Tsp Slawsome Veggies
1 ½ Tsp Garam Masala
Instructions:
- Rinse and sort Split Peas in a colander, set aside to drain
- In a soup pot,saute Onions, Garlic, and Carrots in Butter or Olive oil until Onions are soft.
- Turn off heat, and stir in ham
- Add Split Peas, chicken Broth and spices to your pan, and stir.
- Cover and simmer for 1 – ½ hours until peas are tender
- Take off heat, and let sit for 10 minutes before serving

Whisk Soup if desired to make a smoother texture.
