Homemade Turkey Dressing

Ingredients:
12 oz (6-7 c)Bread cubes
1 c (about 1 med) Onion
1 Tbsp Provincial Poultry
1 c (about 2 ribs) Celery
1 c (2 sticks Butter
1 ½- 2 c Stock (chicken, or turkey)
1/8-1/4 tsp Pepper
Optional:
½ C Mushrooms
¼ c fruit (apples, cranberries, raisins)
Instructions:
For Dressing:
1 Chop and Saute Onion and Celery using some of your butter
2. Melt your butter
3. Put your Bread Cubes in a large heat-resistant bowl, Add Provincial Poultry and mix well
4. Add Saute and mix well
5 Mix Stock, and Butter, add into bread cubes gradually, mixing well.
6. Spoon into 2 1/2- or 3-quart greased casserole dish and cover.
7. Bake on middle rack of preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
8. Remove cover and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer for a crisper top.
For Stuffing:
Follow 1-5, but Omit ½ C stock. (your Bird will take care of the rest)
6. Clean out the internal cavities of your Bird, and pat dry with paper towel
7. Stuff Neck, and Internal cavity with Stuffing
8. Close cavities and bake bird as normal.
Ps. If you want to make your own bread cubes, cut your bread of choice into cubes no larger than 1” square and toast in the oven at 250 until they are the right consistency (usually 30-60 minutes depending on humidity)
