Chai Spiced Honey Orange Chicken Legs

This is SOOO 

Ingredients: 

    4-5 Lbs Chicken Legs or wings

 

Brine

2 bags Tazo Sweet Wild Orange Tea
3 C cold water
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, sliced
¼ C kosher salt
¼ C brown sugar
½ C orange juice
1 Tbsp Harts Desire Chai Spice Blend
½ Tbsp Garlic Ginger Paste

Glaze

2 Tsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tbsp Garlic- Ginger Paste 
½ C Honey
½ C Orange Juice
2 Tsp Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Harts Desire Chai Spice Blend
¼ Tsp Ground Coriander
Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • Instructions:


    1. Heat 1 C water, and add teabags. Let steep for 5 minutes. Remove teabags.
    2. Add salt, and sugar, and 1 C cold water, Stir until dissolved.
    3. Add chicken legs to a gallon size plastic bag.
    4. Add fresh ginger, Garlic Ginger Paste, Chai Spice, and Orange Juice, to Chicken Bag.
    5. Gently pour tea mixture into remaining 2 C cold water/
    6. Pour the cooled tea mixture into the bag of chicken legs (CAREFULLY) and seal the bag tightly, escaping the air from it.
    7. Place in fridge for at least 24 hours.
    8. For the Glaze- Combine ingredients and store overnight in a sealed container to allow flavors to mingle.

    The Next Day:

    1. Preheat Grill
    2. Rinse Chicken legs if you wish to reduce the sodium content.
    3. Grill Chicken on medium heat, basting with glaze every time you turn the legs until chicken is fully cooked through. 15-20mins.

    • Hi Robbie, sorry for the delay. You can find Garlic Ginger Paste at many Asian food stores. It can be hard to find, so if it’s still elusive, I would recommend you use my Garlic-Ginger Paste recipe in the video.
